QUALIFICATIONS: OVERVIEW
I have been engaged in fastpitch softball since I was a teenager, as a player, coach and an instructor. I believe my collective experience offers pitching students a comprehensive approach to pitching and to the sport.
FASTPITCH DYNAMICS SOFTBALL PITCHING SCHOOL
Starting out as a hobby in 2003, we average 30 pitching students per year from the ages of 8 -18. We attract students from areas of Connecticut as far away at Norwich, CT, Massachusetts and New York State. The vast majority of my pitchers pitch at the travel ball level to include the CT Mirage Gold, CT Titans, CT Eliminators, CT Mirage, CT Tigers, CT Bombers, CT Green Devils, CT Outlaws and more. Since starting the school, my high school students have received Player of Year Awards, All-State Awards and at one point, we had 18 pitchers receiving All-Conference as well. Moreover, several of my students are currently pitching in Division I, Division II and Division III colleges across the U.S.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE
I played for over 30 years as a pitcher and infielder at the ASA "Major" and "A" divisions of men's fastpitch. I pitched at all levels of play to include National, Regional and State ASA tournaments. I also played on the All-US Army team and was awarded numerous MVP awards. At the age of 40 posted a 24-3 season record with an ERA of .097. I retired from the game in 1993, compiling a lifetime pitching record of 309 Wins vs. 98 Loses and a lifetime batting average of .372.
PITCHING CONSULTING TO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
In 2010 I was invited to work with the pitching staffs from 4 major college programs. The consulting including
overall assessments, mechanical improvements, adding and improving moving pitches. The college consulting was so successful, it has become a
permanent part of the services I offer.
PITCHING INSTRUCTION
I began pitching instruction in 2001 at various clinics in the Connecticut area. In 2003, I began Fastpitch Dynamics operating out of my home in Windsor, CT. In January, 2007 I moved to Granby, CT formed Fastpitch Dynamics, LLC and built a new training facility where I presently give private pitching lessons. In my opinion, there is no need "to reinvent the wheel" concerning softball pitching. The methods and techniques I use are an "old school" fundamentals" that have endured the test of time for over 50 years.
CLINICS
I also have given youth pitching clinics in the Connecticut towns of East Granby, Vernon, Ellington, Torrington, Farmington, Plainville, Suffield, East Granby, Granby, East Hartland, Somers and as far away as Phoenix, AZ.
GOALS AND ACADEMICS STANDARDS
My goal is to have every student pitch at the collegiate level, so I insist on my students maintain an academic standard of Honors or High Honors at their respective schools to remain in the program.
COLLEGE RECRUITING
For the last several years I have attended several college softball tournaments in Florida during the Spring season and met personally with hundreds of coaches. Presently I have a working relationship with many of the coaches to insure my students optimum exposure during the recruiting process.
COACHING
During 2008, I was an Assistant Coach and Pitching Coach for the 16U CT Mirage-Teal during the 2007-2008 season in which the team went 32-13-2 and finished in Th place at the PONY Nationals. My pitching staff had a combined ERA of 1.42 for the season. In 2009, I was the Pitching and Catching Coach for the CT Mirage Gold team on which 9 players went on to play at the collegiate level.
